Merry Christmas to all our friends and family! After a hiatus of a few years, the Aveni family
web-newsletter is back,
courtsey of our youngest programmer - Timothy!
Katie is now 13 and in 8th grade - her last year of middle school. She continues to excel
academically.
She also continues to play clarinet for the middle school band. She spends
lots of her free time playing video games.
Timothy is 9 and is doing very well in 4th grade. He sings in the school choir. His free
time is spent almost entirely on the computer and also reading books like Teach Yourself JavaScript in 24 Hours.
John is teaching at Rowan University this year and sings in the choir at our church. Kathy continues
to work for the newborn hearing screening program at the New Jersey
Department of Health and Senior Services, highlighted by an award from the New Jersey
chapter of the March of Dimes.
See our other web pages for photos of all of this year’s trips. The majority of our travel
this year occurred in June, starting with a trip to the University of Virginia for Kathy’s
20th college reunion, and we brought the kids for a peek at college life. In mid-June we
traveled to North Carolina to celebrate John’s Nana’s 90th birthday! We were glad to get
the opportunity to visit since Nana passed away a few weeks later. At the end of June,
we traveled to Florida to visit John’s parents and also enjoy some tourist locations. Later
in the summer, we visited Kathy’s parents in Virginia, and we were able to time this trip when Kathy’s
cousin was also in town.
